• Ways of Getting Ethernet on Your Atari

This page is very deprecated and will be updated in the future. Apologies. Suddenly, from 0 options, we are suddenly presented several options in order to get ethernet on our Atari’s. 4 to be exact. But which would should you choose and why? I will attempt to elaborate. Currently the driver for STiNG for the Daynaport SCSI Link ethernet adapter can be considered beta at best. It is rumored to have issues with large transfers where it seems to like to timeout.
  • The Advantages ARAnyM Offers

First of all a little bit of background. Aranym is an Atari machine emulator. In a world of tons of Atari emulators, Aranym is quite a bit different in a very refreshing way. This article will compare Aranym to the other emulators available out there and show you just why it is better. Pacifist, steem, stonx and the likes are all great emulators. They have a specific purpose in mind. Emulate Atari computers perfectly to the point where all of the hardware specifically written atari software (games and demos) work perfectly.
  • A Beginners Guide to Atari Emulation

In order to read this article, it is expected that you have foundational knowledge of Atari computers and software as well as the advantages of having an Atari computer so that you can make your own comparisons. Without this experience, this article may or may not make sense to you. I take no responsibility if your brain were to happen to explode. There is, much to our advtange, a substantial amount of choices of when it comes to emulation of the TOS platform, but before choosing or experiementing in this platform, it’s important to understand the benefits and limitations that surround each particular type of emulator.
  • Minimalist Guide to Installing a Falcon030 in a Tower Case

This guide is quite old and is now deprecated. It was never a guide on doing a good job either, which with a machine as rare as the Falcon, you shouldn’t really consider. There are many reasons someone might want to put their Falcon into a tower case. The number one reason I can think of right now would be to prepare for your CT60 to arrive. Also perhaps your 2.
  • What are GEM Resource Files?

If you have never really dug into Atari’s and aren’t a programmer or technically minded (there aren’t many of you ;) ) then you probably wonder what those .rsc resource files are and why they are needed. Maybe you are technically minded but never really found an explanation. This help guide explains what those pesky .RSC files are. The .rsc files are GEM resource files. They contain graphics, window and menu definitions that a program uses.

  • Blog Entry

Today I worked on gnu gettext a bit and decided that we need the latest version of rpm and apt-rpm. With such a thing we would be able to create different sparemint repositories say for the 68060 user who wants the absolute maximum tested optimizations compiled in with gcc 3.3.3. This allows us to still maintain a sparemint archive for gcc 2.95.3 for the users with lesser systems. An interesting idea but will require some work.
  • Review: CT60 First Impressions

I’ve had my CT60 accelerator for my Falcon for a few weeks now and I believe I am only scratching the surface at what I can now do with my Falcon. Thus I feel that only now am I truly able to write just a first impressions review of the CT60 both in terms of hardware design and speed. Installation: My Falcon has been in a tower case for approximately 1 and a half years.
  • Review: Ace Tracker - Initial Reactions

In the land of tons of trackers, who needs a new one? We do. Every tracker up until now has been unfortunately a plain vanilla tracker. Right up until Groumf tracker we haven’t really experienced much that is worth talking about. Groumf tracker takes things one step further by pushing far more channels of audio through the slow Falcon, and also allows for conversion of XM’s. Flex Tracker then allowed for DSP effects to be applied to samples - nice.
  • Review: Europe Shareware - @Aug 08, 2002

What is Europe Shareware? Europe Shareware is a middle-man organization of sorts. It allows for a very easy ordering of commercial and shareware products for primarily Atari, but also for Macintosh too. Europe shareware benefits both West and East countries by allowing a common currency ordering system (USD and CDN Dollars in particular) as well as a central location to order a very vast number of software projects from. Without Europe Shareware to order 5 software packages, you would have to: Write up 5 little letters, get 5 International money orders of different denominations and currency, do currency conversion, work with the author on a price for overseas shipping and other details, and pay postage for five letters.
